Forget the '80s reboot wave. This Halloween, Nickelodeon is reviving a more recent nightmare — "submitted for the approval of" '90s kids everywhere.

After nearly 20 years off air, Are You Afraid of the Dark? will return as a limited series this October with an all new Midnight Society. Featuring Sam Ashe Arnold, Miya Cech, Tamara Smart, Jeremy Taylor, and Lyliana Wray as the series' young heroes, the three-part story will introduce Mr. Top Hat and the Carnival of Doom as the next chapter in the dark franchise's anthological history.

Blurring the lines of story and reality, the reboot will go beyond its predecessor's campfire setting and explore how the stories the Midnight Society tells manifest in the real world.

Are You Afraid of the Dark? premieres Oct. 11 on Nickelodeon.
