It's 1920s Los Angeles and Nellie LaRoy (Margot Robbie) and Manny Torres (Diego Calva) want to be stars.

In his new love letter to Hollywood, La La Land director Damien Chazelle returns with Babylon, an exhibitionist epic on the highs and lows of movie magic, after parties, and copious amounts of drugs.

The film's latest trailer is a lavish montage of circus parties gone wrong, Brad Pitt as an erratic king of Hollywood, Robbie's character so drunk that she's ready to fight a snake, Tobey Maguire in yet another Roaring Twenties epic, an alligator, and so much cocaine. It's old Hollywood on the precipice of its first transition into new cinema, surfing an opulent tide of cash and dreamers.

Babylon's set to premiere across limited theaters on Dec. 25, just in time for award season, and I'm ready to see Margot Robbie fight that fucking snake.
