Every year, at the beginning of November, John Lewis starts the Christmas ad season with a tearjerker that leaves an entire country sobbing at their desk at work on a chilly Thursday morning.

But this year, BBC One has stolen the crown for the most emotional, human, heart-warming advert that humbly promises to make you well up and brining a lump to your throat.

The clip, a mix of CGI and stop motion called "The Supporting Act", features a 10-year-old determined girl who practices everywhere -- at home, in the shopping mall, in the streets, at the grocery store -- night and day, for her school's Christmas talent show.

Unfortunately, her dad seems too occupied by his job or daily chores to pay attention to her sick dance moves, and he's distracted right up until the day of the performance.

Peeking the crowd from behind the stage curtains, the girl gets stage fright and starts panicking when she appears alone for the show. It is up to the dad now to help her overcome her fears with a touching gesture that will leave you in tears. Guaranteed. Just watch it.
