When you're dealing with a big blockbuster movie like Star Trek, it's crucial to keep the plot a secret.
Every now and then it's OK to make an exception, though.
During an appearance on The Graham Norton Show on Friday, Benedict Cumberbatch revealed that he once told Stephen Hawking spoilers for film.
"We were into our third margarita, I think, and I decided to tell him," explains Cumberbatch in the clip above.
And did Hawking tell anyone else?
"Not as far as I'm aware," he laughs.
