There are many consistently funny interviewees out there – Jennifer Lawrence and Nicolas Cage being two of them – but in a fairly competitive field, Gaslit star Betty Gilpin could well be sneaking up to steal the crown.

Appearing on Jimmy Kimmel Live! on Monday, Gilpin spoke about pandemic-generated social awkwardness, tips for acting drunk, and told one truly brilliant anecdote about her school sporting abilities.

No spoilers, but it involves rope climbing in gym class and the sentence "jolted onto the grid of carnal understanding" — just one of Gilpin's many glorious turns of phrase.
