Nearly a year after Beyond Good & Evil 2 was given a full trailer at E3, and 10 years after the game was first basically revealed in an untitled teaser trailer, we finally have some updates on how the gameplay looks and works.

The update video released on Thursday shows off some of the combat in Beyond Good & Evil 2 as well as jet pack travel and ship travel, which all looks like it's shaping up very nicely despite still being in pre-alpha form. It gives us our first glimpse at the playable character Shani, who is pirate-partners with the cheeky monkey Knox.

Beyond the above video, some of the developers, including the game director Michel Ancel, spoke about the upcoming game during a Twtich stream Thursday night, talking about the timeline of the prequel game and aspects of the development process.
