Netflix has released the trailer for Japanese drama Beyond Goodbye, and it looks great for those days when you just want to curl up on your couch and immerse yourself in a sentimental romance.
The series follows Saeko (Kasumi Arimura), a woman mourning the loss of her fiancé Yusuke (Toma Ikuta) in a tragic accident. It also follows Naruse (Kentaro Sakaguchi), the recipient of Yusuke's donated heart. Yusuke's heart gives Naruse a second chance at life, with his wife Miki (Yuri Nakamura) steadfastly beside him. However, when Saeko and Naruse eventually meet, Yusuke's memories begin to awaken in him.
Sadly, the setup of this story suggests that it's likely to have a bittersweet ending at best. Beyond Goodbye looks gently romantic and painfully heart-wrenching all at once, so prepare your heart accordingly.
