The first teaser trailer for Netflix's Black Knight has arrived, and it looks like the dystopian sci-fi series will scratch an itch for anyone who loved dying historic on the Fury Road.

Based on a South Korean webtoon, Black Knight is set in a world ravaged by pollution so severe that barren desert replaces greenery and oxygen masks are a daily necessity. The series follows delivery driver 5-8 (Kim Woo-bin), who is responsible for delivering resources such as oxygen canisters and protecting them from thieves.

Yet even when safely delivered, these resources are unevenly distributed along stark class divides, with the powerful Cheonmyeong Group sitting at the top. Though that may not be the case for much longer if 5-8 has anything to do with it.

The Korean drama also stars Kang Yoo-seok as a refugee who idolises 5-8, Esom as a military intelligence officer, and Song Seung-heon as the heir to the Cheonmyeong Group.

Black Knight arrives May 12 on Netflix.
