Before there was the iPhone, there was the BlackBerry. And based on the trailer for BlackBerry, it looks like the real-life story of the rise and fall of the company behind the world's first smartphone is a wild ride.

The first trailer for BlackBerry gives off major Social Network vibes. Mike Lazaridis (Jay Baruchel) and Doug Frenin (Matt Johnson, who also directs), the partners behind BlackBerry, team up with businessman Jim Balsillie (Glenn Howerton). He immediately favors Mike, and that favoritism mixed with some illegal business practices creates absolute havoc.

Come for balding Glenn Howerton, stay for a scene where the BlackBerry team encourages people to type with their thumbs. Game changer!

Following its North American Premiere at SXSW, BlackBerry hits theaters May 12.
