If you've seen even the most fleeting of moments from Netflix's new period drama Bridgerton, you'll already know how much effort has clearly gone into the multi-coloured costumes.

But in the behind-the-scenes video above, the sheer scale of that effort becomes abundantly clear.

"I think there are close to 7,500 pieces of wardrobe just made for Bridgerton," says showrunner Chris Van Dusen at one point in the clip, over shots of a sprawling warehouse packed with row after row of dresses. "Everything you see is bespoke, everything you see is made for the show; nothing comes from a costume house."

The video also features interviews with the cast, including Phoebe Dynevor (aka Daphne Bridgerton herself) who pops up to reveal she wears 104 different dresses in the show. Wow.

Bridgerton is now streaming on Netflix.
