Since 2007, Hollywood's one, true vision for Hasbro's Transformers has been led by a single creator: Michael Bay.

Love him or hate him, the explosion-obsessed blockbuster filmmaker has led the way on every big screen treatment of Hasbro's long-lived toy brand. Bumblebee marks the first time Bay vacates the director's chair, to make room for Kubo and the Two Strings director Travis Knight. And this trailer represents our first look at that new vision.

It's pretty good.

Bumblebee follows Hailee Stanfield as she discovers and befriends the lovable, yellow Autobot. Meanwhile, from the look of things, recurring Transformers villain Starscream and Evil John Cena are cooking up trouble for them both.

This trailer screams "E.T., but with a robot." I'm here for it.
