Call Me By Your Name may not have a summer release date (Sony Classics is saving it for a more awards-friendly fall slot), but in every other sense, it's the ultimate summer romance.

The Sundance smash centers on the life-changing love affair between two Americans in Italy: one a teenager still figuring himself out, the other a more self-assured young man.

Armie Hammer plays the young man, in what could be the career breakout that The Social Network was supposed to be but never quite was. But the real revelation here is Timothée Chalamet, whom I'd previously just known as Finn from Season 1 of Homeland.

With five whole months still left in the year, it's admittedly way too early to throw around phrases like "best of the year" and "Oscar buzz." But Team Mashable fell head-over-heels for this one at Sundance, so we'll just say it's one to keep an eye on as we head toward autumn.

Call Me By Your Name opens November 24.
