'Veep' star leads Marvel 'Civil War' comedy re-enactment

What if the sniveling but well meaning White House assistant on Veep were transformed into the weird-goatee-sporting-but-still-badass Tony Stark, a.k.a. Iron Man? If you've ever wondered, Funny or Die just granted your wish by casting Tony Hale (Gary Walsh in Veep) in a hilarious 13-minute skit called Captain America: Civil War Re-enactors

The video offers a documentary style peek into the lives of a group of people obsessed with re-enacting the epic battle scene in the Marvel hit film, in much the same way as real history buffs who dress up and stage historic battle re-enactments throughout the U.S.

Although there are no real spoilers here, if you haven't seen the real Captain America: Civil War yet, it's best to skip this for now. But if you have, you'll definitely appreciate the real (childish!) animosity between fake Captain America and fake Iron Man in this clip. And even if you're not a comic book fan, the short delivers laughs that transcend the realm of comic book insider geekery.
