The world of Lucha Libre comes to dazzling life in the trailer for Prime Video's Cassandro.

Based on a true story, Cassandro stars Gael García Bernal as Saúl Armendáriz, a gay amateur wrestler from El Paso. Tired of being cast as the runt in Lucha Libre wrestling, Saúl decides to flip the script with his new character "Cassandro," aka "The Liberace of Lucha Libre." An exotico — a luchador who fights in drag — Cassandro allows Saúl to reach international stardom and upend the macho wrestling world in the process. An inspiring tale of joy, community, and many, many sequins, Cassandro promises to be a heartwarming good time. Plus, it was one of our favorite films out of 2023's Sundance festival.

Cassandro premieres in select US theaters Sept. 15 and hits Prime Video Sept. 22.
