2016 has been a terrible year for celebrity deaths.

It's no surprise that many of us have turned to social media to express some grief or pay tribute to our heroes. #GoneTooSoon

But have you ever thought to yourself while scrolling through your feed: Did these people really care about David Bowie/Prince/Lemmy before they passed from this mortal coil? Did they care as much as I cared?

But don't worry -- there's a support group for over-the-top celebrity mourners, it seems.

Australian comedy group stuntbear have realised it, via a satirical sketch that reveals the social media subtext behind our public commemorations.
