Growing up, the movie villain who terrified me most wasn't the Wicked Witch of the West or any of the sinister antagonists Disney could conjure up. No, I was most frightened by Chicken Run's Mrs. Tweedy and her devilish pie-making machine.
Now, my childhood nightmares return in the long-awaited Chicken Run sequel, Chicken Run: Dawn of the Nugget. The film reunites us with our beloved chickens from the first film, including Ginger (voiced by Thandiwe Newton) and Rocky (voiced by Zachary Levi). They've found peace on an idyllic island and have even started a family.
But over on the mainland, something sinister is brewing. Mrs. Tweedy (voiced by Miranda Richardson) has concocted a terrifying new invention that threatens all of chicken-kind. It's up to Ginger and co. to stage another daring mission — except this time, they're breaking into Mrs. Tweedy's compound instead of out. Electric fences, gun-toting moles, and exploding ducks stand between them and success, but if anyone can take down Mrs. Tweedy a second time, it's our chicken crew.
Chicken Run: Dawn of the Nugget premieres on Netflix Dec. 15.
