A bank in North China's Changzhi province has come under fire after video footage of its employees being publicly shamed and abused onstage leaked on Sunday.
According to a People's Daily Facebook post, eight Rural Commercial Bank employees were on stage during a company event, and were punished by their bank manager for not "exceeding themselves."
The eight employees were each reprimanded by their manager and made to announce to their colleagues why they were underperforming. He then goes behind them and brutally smacks their bottoms with a large ruler.
After one round of spanking, the manager yells at them again before delivering another round of painful blows.
Netizens have criticised the company for its "immoral" treatment towards its staff and are demanding for the unnamed manager to be fired for the public humiliation he dished out.
