Christina Grimmie’s tragic death on Friday shocked The Voice and YouTube fans who have followed the late star’s career.

Grimmie first surfaced as a YouTube star, performing stunning covers of pop songs.

One of her most talked about performances is her blind audition on The Voice. Her unique cover of Miley Cyrus’ "Wrecking Ball,” caused all four coaches -- Adam Levine, Shakira, Usher and Blake Shelton -- to turn their chairs, but ultimately she joined Levine's team and went on to the finals, finishing in third place.

Before her death, Grimmie had been performing with Before You Exit, a punk rock band.

The former Voice contestant was taken to a local hospital Friday night in Orlando, Florida, and was later pronounced dead -- after being shot by a male suspect, who proceeded to shoot himself.
