Christine Blasey Ford delivered harrowing testimony Thursday about the harassment she received after coming forward with sexual assault allegations against Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh.

Since her allegations were first reported in the Washington Post, Ford explained, she has received "tremendous support," particularly from loved ones and fellow survivors. But she has also been targeted constantly with harassment, including death threats.

"These messages, while far fewer than the messages of support, have been terrifying and have rocked me to my core," she said. "People have posted my personal information and that of my parents ... on the internet, which resulted in additional emails, calls, and threats."

The harassment became so severe, in fact, that she and her family were forced to leave their home.

Ford also detailed an incident from last week in which her work email was hacked. The hackers, she said, then sent fake messages from her account to make it appear that she was recanting her allegations.

"Apart from the assault itself, these past couple of weeks have been the hardest of my life," she said. "I have had to live this trauma in front of the world, and I have seen my life picked apart by people on television, on Twitter and social media, other media, and in this body [Congress], who have never met me or spoken with me."

"I have been accused of acting out of partisan political motives," she added. "Those who say that do not know me. I am an independent person. I am no one's pawn."

Since Ford made her accusations in a letter written to Democratic Senator Dianne Feinstein, which was subsequently leaked to the press, multiple other accusers have come forward with allegations of sexual misconduct. Kavanaugh has denied the allegations.
