Marvel has explored distant galaxies, parallel worlds and the subatomic quantum realm, but in 2018 it'll go where no superhero show has gone before: Freeform.

The Disney-owned cable network has debuted the first trailer for Marvel's Cloak and Dagger, a moody teen drama with a super-powered twist which seems like it will sit right in the channel's wheelhouse, combining the romantic drama of Pretty Little Liars with the supernatural intrigue of Beyond.

Cloak and Dagger is the story of Tandy Bowen (Olivia Holt) and Tyrone Johnson (Aubrey Joseph) – two teenagers from very different backgrounds, who find themselves burdened with newly acquired superpowers which are mysteriously linked to one another.

Tandy can emit light daggers and Tyrone has the ability to engulf others in darkness. They quickly learn they are better together than apart, but their feelings for each other make their already complicated world even more challenging.

No word yet on if the series will connect to any of the Marvel Cinematic Universe's other TV properties -- including ABC's Agents of SHIELD and Netflix's Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage and Iron Fist -- but the trailer does feature one easter egg that nods to their shared universe: a neon sign for Roxxon Corp, the nefarious energy company revealed to have ties to The Hand in Iron Fist and Daredevil.
