'Code Vein' looks like it gives 'Dark Souls' an anime twist

This sure looks cool AF.

Our first look at Code Vein -- an upcoming action-RPG from publisher Bandai Namco -- suggests there's combat in the style of Dark Souls fused with a visual aesthetic reminiscent of anime. That's pretty cool, I guess.

The story is set in a post-apocalyptic Earth that has been torn asunder by "Thorns of Judgment," which actually are literal, skyscraper-sized thorns. You play as a member of a secret society called Vein. At least, I think that's what's going on.

Code Vein is launching sometime in 2018, so expect some more info to come out when Bandai Namco makes with its E3 reveals next month.
