Spotting contradictions in Trump's political discourse is easy, probably only marginally easier than getting a late night chat show audience to boo the president.
The saga of President Trump's spat with the NFL continued last night on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. Colbert had a field day pulling apart the president's oxymorons. Trump said in a speech, "I have plenty of time on my hands, all I do is work," and called for a boycott of the NFL, yet tuned in to watch the Dallas Cowboys.
Trump also tweeted triumphantly that the booing at the Cowboys game was the "loudest [he has] ever heard." Colbert plucked that succulent low-hanging fruit and got his audience to give Trump a rousing chorus of boos.
There's no way to confirm whether they were actually louder than those at the Cowboys game, but they get the point across.
