Stephen Colbert rarely holds back but he has been going to town this week — and by town, specifically, we mean Washington D.C., because it is a particularly rich source of nasty stupidity demanding to be mocked.

After President Trump’s racist attacks on the Democratic Congresswomen now known as The Squad -- Representatives Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Ayanna Pressley, Ilhan Omar, and Rashida Tlaib -- all but four of the House GOP reps voted against a resolution to officially condemn the comments.

"That's right, Mr President! A formal condemnation! You better watch your step, mister -- or next they'll hit you with a notarised complaint and then BOOM! A ceremonial rebuke!" said Colbert on Wednesday.

He also schooled GOP congressman "and man whose eyebrows don't match the drapes" Mike Kelly on whether the Irish are "Anglo-Saxons." They are, as the Late Show host pointed out, extremely not.

"You know how I know this?" Colbert demanded. "If my family were Anglo-Saxons, the Anglo-Saxons wouldn't have driven my family off their land to go west of the River Shannon to farm rocks! You are officially kicked out of being Irish!"

And then, most chillingly, Colbert brought out the big gums to tutor Eric Trump in some basic maths after the First Large Adult Son claimed "95 percent of the country are behind" his father. And we're very sorry, but if we have to look at this with our very own eyes, so do you.
