Sassy teens and the '60s are Hollywood catnip. Woody Allen, also known as the entertainment industry's most enduring extremely problematic fave, shifts to the small screen for the first time with Amazon's Crisis in Six Scenes, a family comedy co-starring Elaine May and Miley Cyrus.

Comic legend May returns to the screen after nearly 16 years as the wife of Sid (Allen). The couple takes in Cyrus, a rebellious teen who tells Sid she dislikes "everything you stand for."

The resonance of the '60s isn't lost in the modern era; The family at the center of Crisis struggles to fit into the social and political unrest rife in their country. May and a coterie of women her age plot gleefully to enter the women's liberation movement and participate in peaceful protests and bra burning. In one scene, the spotless suburbanites encounter "real Black panthers" and react with poorly disguised intrigue.

The series starts streaming Sept. 30.
