Australia's wildlife have moved on from biting backpackers -- they've started to turn on each other.

Beau Griffin was late-night fishing at Corroboree Billabong in Australia's Northern Territory when he got a timely reminder that no creature is safe in the animal kingdom.

Shining his torch light towards the source of splashing noises near his boat, Griffin discovered that the noise was unfortunately not a fish, but a crocodile.

Between the dinosaur cousin's jaws was the body of a lifeless croc, as the hungry nightmare reptile silently swam away with its meal.

Whatever apex-predator style battle went down between the pair, it's pretty easy to see what happened to the loser. As Griffin noted: "It's a croc-eat-croc world."
