You'd think entering a place full of animals would be a good reminder to not litter and be a terrible person.

Yet somehow The Colonel, a large saltwater crocodile who lives at Rockhampton Zoo, coughed up two plastic drink bottles after spending quite some time in distress, according to a Facebook post on the zoo's page last Friday. It may be the result of visitors throwing objects into the enclosure.

"It was distressing to see the Colonel going through this as a result of a small minority who don’t do the right thing. These plastic bottles have the potential to kill a croc as they can cause internal lacerations, ulcers, infection or impaction," according to the zoo's post.

James, a zoo keeper, was fortunately on hand to help the croc move in a way to help it cough up a bottle.
