Our first look at the origin story of Disney villain Cruella de Vil is here.

Cruella film is a prequel to 101 Dalmations, depicting a young Cruella de Vil and the fashion career that led her to stealing puppies for coats. With her shock of black and white hair and punk rock aesthetic, star Emma Stone transforms before our eyes into a classic villain who's still finding her way in the world.

Dazzling fashion, growling dogs, and general villainy are at the center of our first look at the prequel, which is directed by Craig Gillespie (I, Tonya). In addition to Stone, the movie also stars Joel Fry, Paul Walter Hauser, Emily Beecham, and Mark Strong.

Cruella hits theaters May 28.
