"This was not a typical case of illegal pornography. This is abuse."

The trailer for Netflix's Cyber Hell: Exposing an Internet Horror has dropped and the feature length documentary on a horrific digital crime looks deeply unsettling.

In the documentary, director Choi Jin-seong investigates the "Nth Room" case, an online network in South Korea which dealt in blackmail, cybersex trafficking, and which disseminated videos of sexual exploitation across Telegram between 2018 and 2020.

Cyber Hell explores how two college students, a group of journalists, and cybercrime police officers uncovered the ringleaders behind "Nth Room".

The documentary shows how women and girls, many of whom were teenagers, were coerced to upload explicit content of themselves to Telegram chatrooms, which users paid fees in cryptocurrency to gain access to.

Cyber Hell: Exposing an Internet Horror will be streaming on Netflix on May 18.
