The Daily Show's Ronny Chieng has taken aim at Elon Musk and his AI chatbot Grok after it labelled itself "MechaHitler" and went on an antisemitic tirade earlier this week.

"AI: it's an awesome tool that will soon solve all of humanity's problems with absolutely no downsides," quipped Chieng.

Grok's antisemitic X posts came shortly after it was updated to "assume subjective viewpoints sourced from the media are biased" and "not shy away from making claims which are politically incorrect." Musk announced the changes by saying Grok had been significantly improved. The chatbot's developer xAI has since stated that it's working to remove Grok's "inappropriate" posts.

"Was there really nothing between 'woke' and 'MechaHitler'?" Chieng said. "I didn't even know robots could get this racist. Like, how does AI even know what Jews are? It doesn't even know what traffic lights are."
