Black Twitter has been at the center of almost all major events within the African American community. Everything from the #BlackLivesMatter movement to debates about Kanye West's new album have been discussed within this thriving internet community.

Daily Show correspondent Roy Wood Jr. explores the experience of taking part in a social media community tailored specifically for one culture. Wood tackled the topic in a barber shop, often the hub of black conversation before the invention of Twitter.

Jamilah Lemieux may have said it best: "They should just give us Twitter."
