At first, Netflix's Dance Monsters may seem like your average dance competition. Dancers compete in front of a panel of judges in order to win a $250,000 prize. However, there's one monster-sized catch: The dancers are wearing motion capture suits that disguise them to look like animated creatures.

It's a lot to wrap your head around, and that's before you watch a one-eyed alien spinning and leaping around the stage in the trailer. The future is here... and it looks like a dancing marshmallow woman.

Dance Monsters hits Netflix Dec. 16.
