The man is question TJ Riley, an emergency and trauma nurse at Jacobi Medical Center in New York, who explains to Kimmel that his whole hospital is currently focused on the coronavirus pandemic — something made more challenging by the fact 60 percent of his colleagues, including Riley himself, have contracted the virus.
In order to give something back to Riley – who's a big music fan – Kimmel presents him with $10,000, and drafts in Grohl to play him an acoustic version of the Foo Fighter's song "Everlong."
