Musical fans, it's going to be a good year and here's why: A film adaptation of Dear Evan Hansen will hit the big screen this fall.

Dear Evan Hansen follows an outcast teen boy (Ben Platt, reprising the stage role he won a Tony for in 2017) desperately seeking connection and friends in a digital age, but an escalating lie turns his school and world upside down. Come for the beautiful music, stay for the wigs!

The film adaptation is directed by Stephen Chbosky (The Perks of Being A Wallflower) and also stars Amy Adams, Julianne Moore, Kaitlyn Dever, and Amandla Stenberg. Dear Evan Hansen hits theaters Sept. 24.
