The Adams County, Wisconsin Sheriff's Office shared this clip on its Facebook page of a fawn waking up moments before it would've been put down.

The video recorded a conversation between the driver who found the fawn unconscious at a trailer park, and the police officer who would have had to put it down. The driver says he'd decided to move the deer out of the trailer park before calling the police.

Just as thee officer prepared to carry out this unfortunate task, the startled deer woke up.

The confused officer asked the deer, "Are you okay?" before it took off. The deer did not respond.

While it's unclear what caused the fawn to lose consciousness, the Facebook post used the hashtag, "#DeerPlayingPossum" which could offer one explanation. This deer should leave playing dead to possums.
