The Great Barrier Reef is one of the world's treasures, but is at risk due to coral bleaching as a result of climate change and government inaction.

It's led Ellen DeGeneres to urge the country to save the Great Barrier Reef, as part of a heavily-branded Disney campaign called "Remember The Reef". It coincides with the release of the film Finding Dory, the sequel to Finding Nemo, which stars DeGeneres as a voice actor.

"I'm a big fan of your beautiful, great, wonderful Great Barrier Reef, which is home to my favourite fish, Dory," she said in a video released Wednesday.

"And as you may remember -- but Dory probably doesn't -- she's a blue tang and has many other amazing species that live in the reef with her. It's critical we protect this amazing place and we need your help."

DeGeneres ends with the song "Just Keep Swimming" from the film, which is now stuck in our heads. Hopefully the message to save the reef stays in people's minds too.
