We're calling it: Denzel Washington will win an Emmy this year.

He's usually more of an Oscars guy, but his performance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon last night was so, so inspired.

Complete with compelling lighting and underscored by The Roots, Washington and Jimmy Fallon dramatically read silly greeting cards with such gravitas that we'll never look at the greeting card aisle in Duane Reade the same way again. And we're okay with that.

It was the meaty, dramatic role Denzel fans have been waiting for.
