The mystery-solving Pikachu we've been waiting for is finally leaving its Japan-only status behind and coming to the West this spring.

The Nintendo 3DS game Detective Pikachu will arrive in Europe and the Americas in March, more than two years after the game first released in Japan.

In Detective Pikachu, players control a human that works alongside a deep-voiced Pikachu who has somehow learned how to speak English (or whatever language you play the game in) to solve mysteries and chase down criminals. It sounds amazing.

Along with the game release, Detective Pikachu is being spun out into a live action movie, in which the titular Pikachu is voiced by Ryan Reynolds. What a time to be alive.
