A mother searching for her lost son in a futuristic war is the tense premise for DMZ, HBO Max's new series based on Brian Wood's DC graphic novel of the same name.

Rosario Dawson stars in the trailer above as Alma, a woman searching through a desolate Manhattan that now acts as a demilitarised zone, in an attempt to find her missing boy.

Directed by Ava DuVernay and Ernest R. Dickerson, the limited series also stars Venus Ariel, Hoon Lee, Benjamin Bratt, and Reynaldo Gallegos.

DMZ lands on HBO Max March 17.
