How does one acquire the ability to manipulate time and space like Doctor Strange? For starters, you hit the gym.

In a new behind-the-scenes clip from Doctor Strange, the cast and executive producer Charles Newirth describe the intense physical training Benedict Cumberbatch underwent for his role as a Marvel leading man.

"Benedict threw himself into this role," Newirth says, describing the actor's intense training even while he was performing Hamlet on the West End. "He has been game for everything."

"You have to be incredibly fit," Cumberbatch observes, noting that fight scenes sometimes took up to five days to film. The video highlights the intimate training between Strange and Mordo (Chiwetel Ejiofor) as the doctor masters ancient techniques of sorcery and combat.

Doctor Strange is available for digital download on Feb. 14, and on Blu-ray and DVD on Feb. 28.
