Some will actually run onto the field and start wagging their tail, like this dog who darted onto the pitch during a Brazilian soccer match in the Paulistão championships. He never got the ball, but he got the glory.
The dog briefly united the players of the Oeste and Capivariano teams, both based in São Paulo state. It was player Alex Santos of Capivariano (article is in Portuguese) who finally calms the dog enough to escort him to an official. Perhaps karmically, his team would go on to win the match 1-0.
