Imagine getting to tell your kid you're going to star in the remake of one of their favourite movies.

This was the situation Donald Glover found himself in with The Lion King, in which he plays the lead role of Simba. So, rather than telling his son a long way in advance, he explained to Jimmy Kimmel (while wearing a lion costume) that he tried to surprise him.

"Yesterday I was like, 'Hey', just out of nowhere,' said Glover. "'You wanna go see The Lion King?' Just to see if he might notice my voice or whatever. And he was like, 'Oh, sure. Beyoncé's in it, right?' And I was like, 'How did you know that?' But also, 'Daddy's in it [...] I'm in it too!'"

Despite the fact his son barely watches TV, he'd someone heard say that Beyoncé, who plays Nala, was in the film.

"Beyoncé has people who haven't even seen television loving her," says Glover. "She's incredible."
