A new trailer for Jonás Cuarón's border thriller Desierto uses Donald Trump's infamous speech about Mexicans being criminals and rapists to terrifying effect.
Desierto, which is Mexico’s official selection for the foreign language Oscar, tackles the perilous journey of a group of hardworking migrant workers trying to find a better life in the United States who are targeted by a crazed anti-immigrant sniper.
Trump's widely condemned speech, in which he says Mexicans are "bringing drugs, they're bringing crime, they're rapists," was used as part of the marketing campaign for the Mexican launch of the film earlier this year.
Gael García Bernal and Jeffrey Dean Morgan star in Desierto, which STX Entertainment will release on Oct. 14.
