One of the best British series of 2023 so far, Adjani Salmon's comedy Dreaming Whilst Black follows Kwabena, an aspiring filmmaker faced with the struggles of working two jobs and financing his dream while dealing with daily microaggressions and a predominantly white industry.

Showtime's trailer teases the frequent disappointments, frustrations and awkward interactions Kwabena is forced to endure while working towards his goal, and the result is every bit as cringey as you'd expect. Dani Moseley, Kemi Lofinmakin, Demmy Ladipo and Rachel Adedeji also star.

Dreaming Whilst Black is streaming on Showtime from Sept. 8. It's currently streaming on BBC iPlayer in the UK.
