Irish man uses drone to elaborately rescue someone trapped in his bathroom

Although the influx of domestic drone purchases has led to no shortage of horrendous flying mishaps, there are some skilled pilots out there using their drones for good.

On Tuesday, YouTuber coolkidirish shared some drone footage of an elaborate rescue attempt -- after someone apparently became stuck in his bathroom ("they were unable to get the door lock to open from the inside," he wrote), he was able to use his DJI Phantom to hover outside the small upstairs window. This then allowed the person inside to tie the bathroom key to a bit of string suspended from the drone.

"We successfully retrieved the key and opened it from the outside for her," continued coolkidirish. "Mission success!"

Obviously there's no way of knowing for sure if someone was actually stuck in the bathroom, but either way it's cool to see a drone finally being used for something that doesn't end in window-shattering disaster.
