Parents will do just about anything to keep their kids in line, and Elf on the Shelf seems to do a pretty good job during the weeks leading up to Christmas.
The concept is pretty simple and is based off of a children's book: a scout elf is propped up inside your house to keep tabs on kids' activities during the day and reports back to Santa. So basically the elf is a straight up narc, and if you're a bad kid, Santa will know.
What makes the whole thing even creepier is that when the elf returns in the morning before everyone gets up from bed, he's positioned in a new spot. Scary, right?
While some kids find this whole thing fun, this poor little dude is completely freaked out by Elf on the Shelf. Even the mere sight of the elf prompts a full-blown crying tantrum, despite wearing a sweater with an elf on it.
We're taking sides on this one. This kid is right, Elf on the Shelf is creepy as hell.
