Ellen Page has a lot to say about what happens when hate fuels politics.

On The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, the actress delivered an emotional speech about how the Trump administration, and in particular Vice President Mike Pence, is actively hurting LGBTQ people.

"When you are in a position of power, and you hate people, and you want to cause suffering to them [...]" Page said. "What do you think is going to happen? Kids are gonna be abused and they are gonna kill themselves, and people are gonna get beaten on the street."

Mike Pence has spoken against gay marriage, and has previously advocated for conversion therapy, just to mention a few of his anti-LGBTQ policies.

"This needs to fucking stop," Page said.
