Will we ever tire of tortured teen TV shows? All signs point to no as with the gripping teaser for HBO's upcoming Euphoria starring Zendaya.

In the show's first teaser, we meet Rue (Zendaya) whose declares that "if I could be a different person, I would."

The tone points plaintively toward darkness – more 13 Reasons Why than Riverdale and with HBO's freedom regarding sex and cursing.

The cast is rounded out by Maude Apatow, Angus Cloud, Eric Dane, Alexa Demie, Jacob Elordi, Barbie Ferreira, Nika King, Storm Reid, Hunter Schafer, Algee Smith and Sydney Sweeney. Creator Sam Levinson wrote and executive produced the series (so did Drake, nbd).

Euphoria premieres June 16 at 10 p.m.
