If you've ever tried to leave a colossal city subway station, and felt like the everyday drudgery of it all resembled a hellish maze, watch the terrifying trailer for Exit 8.

A Hundred Flowers director and Monster producer Genki Kawamura is set to thrill with his adaptation of Kotake Create's 2023 hit mystery video game The Exit 8 — and it looks like a chilling, freaky ride.

We meet Kazunari Ninomiya as a man frantically lost in a train station's halls, only to find himself in an eternal loop. But he's not alone, constantly finding himself alongside an unsettling stranger (Yamato Kochi) and a small boy (Naru Asanuma). He also keeps finding strange rules on the station walls, ones that must be obeyed if he is to escape this place and find the eponymous Exit 8. And then there's all that blood...

As far as psychological horror goes, this one seems all too real for commuters.

Exit 8 hits cinemas April 10.
