Jessica Chastain and Andrew Garfield are nearly unrecognizable in the trailer for The Eyes of Tammy Faye, which tells the life story of televangelist Tammy Faye Bakker (Chastain). Tammy Faye and her husband Jim Bakker (Garfield) headed up a religious broadcasting network and even built a theme park. However, when Jim is accused of fraud, the empire they've built threatens to collapse.
Directed by Michael Showalter (The Big Sick), The Eyes of Tammy Faye also stars Cherry Jones, Fredric Lehne, Louis Cancelmi, Sam Jaeger, Gabriel Olds, Mark Wystrach, and Vincent D’Onofrio.
The Eyes of Tammy Faye comes to theaters September 17.
