TV show adaptations of popular post-apocalyptic video games are all the rage now apparently and now after many years, we can welcome Fallout into the mix.

The popular FPS role-playing game from Bethesda Gameworks is finally making its debut on the big screen, airing exclusively on Amazon Prime. And as far as video game adaptations go, this looks pretty solid. Even more exciting is that the show is being helmed by Westworld directors Johnathan Nolan and Lisa Joy. (Let us pray for Westworld season 1 quality and not the other seasons).

Starring Walter Goggins and Ella Purnell, the series follows multiple protagonists as they navigate the nuclear wastelands of Los Angeles, taking place 219 years after "The Great War." Based on the trailer, many factions and creatures from the franchises' expansive lore are set to make an appearance including the Brotherhood of Steel, a quasi-religious technocratic military order, and the Yao Guai, a large and imposing mutated Black bear.

So far, everything is looking great so let's hope the show sticks the landing. Fallout premieres on Amazon Prime on April 12, 2024.
